Report: Chuck Liddell in no condition to perform on USO tour
By Zach Arnold | November 13, 2008

MMA Weekly has a very strange report regarding Chuck Liddell taking a leave of absence from a current USO tour due to what is being claimed by officials as an illness.
First and foremost, I hope Chuck Liddell is doing OK. The last two years have been full of up-and-down moments for the UFC superstar.
However (and shamefully), label me ‘guilty as charged’ when the first thought that popped in my mind was this:
Let’s hope the man feels better soon. And, no, we’re not looking for a conspiracy here.
Update: Fightlinker is on the case. One question — why the hell is someone bringing ‘an entourage’ with them on a USO tour?

Zach, it saddens me you posted this, because I love the fighter that is the Iceman but being baked right now, must admit that I could not ask for any web content MORE entertaining than a drowsy pill poppin Chuck hahaha thank you so much for all your good reporting and cheers to the video!
After re-watching it I noticed how the host/interviewer talks in an interesting manner, almost like a cop, to help confuse a yacked out Chuck.
Come on now Zach, you’re better than this i’d expect something like this somebody at Sherdog not you. Looking for conspiracies everywhere you go is something that is better left to random bloggers with tons of time on their hands not a site like this.
Comparing something that happened before to something that just happened recently isn’t actually a conspiracy. Public relations people have ot cover for party behavior in the entertainment business all the time. Its their job, not a conspiracy.
And if his theory isn’t true, don’t worry – Chuck isn’t losing fans because someone on the internet thinks he might party a lot.
If I thought the guy was showing up in bad condition on the USO tour due to drugs, I would have said it. I didn’t say it.
I really hope that he is doing better. He’s had a rough stretch the last couple of years (albeit, profitable) and when the public spotlight is on you as much as it is with the former champ, the fact is that everything gets magnified pretty quickly.
I take no pleasure in seeing fighters get hurt, get sick, or have personal demons. Believe it.
What…you’ve never taken Nyquil? lol
Zach,
You are definitely “guilty as charged”. But I never get tired of seeing that clip.
It’s unfortunate that Chuck had to expereince that, but it does not make it any less entertaining. I really do hope that Chuck is ok.
What sort of “performing” does he do on the USO tours anyway? Does he beat up some random soldier? He’s not like a musician or comedian, “performing” is standing up there and saying “hi”. 🙂

[…] sounds a little fishy, doesn’t it? Zach Arnold reminds everyone of the last time Chuck Liddell wasn’t feeling too great. Me, I decided that I wanted to dig […]
pft. ‘not looking for a conspiracy’ is a thinly — and PAINFULLY — veiled accusation of drug use, or something because of one instance of exhaustion, sickness, or whatever it was?
grow up.
