Tyson Griffin vs. Sean Sherk at UFC 90
By Zach Arnold | August 20, 2008

October 25th in Chicago. Pick the description that best fits your initial reaction to hearing this news:
a) This will be a really good, exciting, competitive fight.
b) This could be a real snoozefest and lose the audience in a hurry.
c) Tepid reaction… don’t really care either way.

A, No doubt.
Immediately my mind jumps to B and sort of simmers there for a while.
d)This fight is going to the judges.
The words ‘good’ and ‘exciting’ in a Sean Sherk fight? I’m leaning heavily towards (B).
Although, don’t get me wrong, I HOPE it’s good since I will most likely be forking out $44.95 to see it. But I’m not holding my breath.
Actually, scratch that…the main event is Anderson Silva vs. Patrick Cote. I will *not* be buying that PPV.
When has Tyson Griffin not been in a good fight?
My first reaction is A. It is possible, but not likely that the fight could stall out.
Sherk makes me think smother-n-pepper, and Tyson makes me think awkward standup.
I gotta go with B, but I’m hoping for an A.
Based on Sherk’s fight with Penn, and all of Tyson’s fights, I’m going with A. Then again, I thought Florian vs Huerta was going to be FOTY.
Tyson Griffin is exciting. Sean Sherk is a bore. Styles make fights but most of the time in MMA the boring guy is able to get inside and push their style rather than the exciting knock out artist or great submissions guy getting a quick finish in.

Griffen may be a wrestling based fighter that hasn’t finished in the UFC… But all his fights are exciting. Sherk will have his hands full everywhere this fight goes.
A
A, for sure.
B
Ive said it before, sherk is NOT a good fighter, he is a good Wrestler. this will be boring for three full rounds of two guys laying on each other.
