An MMA school you can be proud of?
By Zach Arnold | August 19, 2008

Next week in Denver, Colorado, protesters are expected to cause a scene at the Democrat’s national convention (DNCC) in town. Protesters from the group R-68 (“Recreate ’68”) are openly bragging about getting ‘self-defense training’ at a Denver MMA school called “Gumm Mixed Martial Arts Gym.” The’s school web site is here.
The person behind the school is a fighter named Brad Gumm, who supposedly trains with… Nathan Marquardt.
So, remember all of this when you watch any sort of rowdy protesters next week fighting with the police in Denver. I’m sure Big John McCarthy is really proud of this MMA school.
Maybe MMA Weekly can interview the school’s management and get them to comment on the record about this story.

Since when is this site political?
As far as his decision to teach self defense to political activists, that’s his choice, and one I applaud.
“dissent is the highest form of patriotism”
I’m not the one making a political statement here — the MMA school in question is and the activists that are touting the school are.
Tell me the point again as to why protesters who are ‘peaceful’ are going to train at an MMA gym again?
You know exactly what the media angle is going to be if (more like when) violence breaks out and it’s not going to be positive coverage for MMA, either.
