Good god, that was a bad show. Unless you’re a glutton for punishment avoid it like the plague. Fujita looks so shot its not even funny.
You can real about the horror in full at Total-MMA.com
We had the displeasure of livebloggin’ it.
Forget a good event, has Sengoku even had a good match… ever?
Hey, Travis Wiuff beat Fujita! And he even didn’t need a warning track/slanted edge against the cage this time!
Thomson vs Costa was a good scrap as was Damm vs Masvidal despite the early stoppage.
Sengoku needs to shut it’s doors. They are just a waste of time for the few top guys they have fighting in their organization.
From the interviews I’ve heard with Barnett recently, there seems to be some rub between himself and the folks from DSE that went over to work on DREAM, and so it seems like he’s heavily reliant on Sengoku for the future. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s true for others in the organization.
Josh Barnett burning his bridges with an organizations? I just don’t believe it!!!
Considering that DSE, towards the end, was in complete turmoil and many fighters complained that they got stiffed on money…
Ok, so this means Barnett will come back to the UFC?
UFC doesn’t want Josh Barnett.
UFC could dearly use Barnett, but there is no way at this point he’d take one of their contracts, I think. The whole exclusive thing which would bar him from doing all of that stuff he does in Japan would tear him apart.
Barnett is enough of a name and has enough credibility that he can find work somewhere as long as MMA is going fairly strong. He’s fighting for Affliction soon, EliteXC could use an top level heavyweight for Antonio Silva eventually, and given that there is still considerable interest for MMA in Japan as well as likely many more people willing to put some money into MMA here, he will be fine.
Antonio Silva/Barnett is a GREAT matchup. I’d be excited about Barnett/Roger Gracie too.
