Tito Ortiz, according to IMDB.com, has a limited role in the upcoming controversial film Valley of the Wolves Iraq. It is a Turkish film that is expected to do good business in several countries, but may not get such a heartwarming reaction in America. Money quotes:
“The scenario is great,” Istanbul Mayor Kadir Topbas told The Associated Press after the film was shown at a posh opening gala Tuesday night. “It was very successful. … a soldier’s honor must never be damaged.”
But Topbas and other Turks at the premiere weren’t too concerned about how the movie would be perceived in the United States.
“There isn’t going to be a war over this,” said Nefise Karatay, a Turkish model lounging on a sofa after the premiere. “Everyone knows that Americans have a good side. That’s not what this is about.”

I read about this earlier this afternoon, and I have to say, I’m kind of surprised that Tito would do such a film, considering that pro-American image he gives in the ring. If Tito knowingly did an anti-American piece of propaganda, I’ll be very disappointed in him.
Considering Tito’s heel gimmick, if he gets heat for this, it probably would be considered a badge of honor and good marketing. 🙂
Tito the Turkish Assassin. To cap that gimmick off he needs to shave his head except for a little ponytail in back. Sure its a Mongol gimmick, but what the heck. In fact, here to Bepo Ortiz!
Tito as a Turkish government Assassin, this I have to see. As far as how the media covered this movie it was pure B.S. Sure the Turks are pissed that we’ve gone into Iraq to fight terrorist and now we’re arming Kurdish terrorists to go attack the Turks. How pissed would we be of our allies all of a sudden started backrolling Bin Laden. If you look at the issue objectively the movie is basically anti the small military unit in the north who are funding terrorists, not the whole american military or its people.
The movie is basically anti terrorist, not anti American. And if some military sects in northern iraq are funding terrorists they get the brunt of the blame. What can ya do. Although I am surprised that Tito would go half way across the world to get a small roll in a small film.
