Boxing: Cintron beats Estrada

A very interesting fight on Wednesday night’s ESPN2 telecast, with Kermit Cintron defeating David Estrada by TKO in round 10 (in Palm Beach, Florida). A lot of heavy hitting by both men, and while Cintron looked like he went through a war (in his post-match interview), he certainly delivered tonight. KW at FightReport.net has more details.

Aargh, I lost $100 on it! I still enjoyed the bout though. Mentally this was a huge win for Cintron. He needed it after the Margarito beating.
One of the best fights ESPN 2 has produced (at least in recent memory and definitely the best this year so far). Cintron controlled most of the fight and punted the iron chinned David Estrada, decking him in Round 10 and forcing a ref stoppage when he didn’t defend himself after he got up. Cintron also did not break down like he did against Antonio Margarito last year, which is a good thing. Very good win for Cintron, who may not become the Welterweight champion, but will probably win one of the titles at least eventually.
David is a warrior, a pitbull and fights. Cintron avoided David during the fight and forgot to fight till the end. Smart ass cooling while David did all the work. Cintron forgot to fight and danced thru the fight until the end. He was smart, but proves he ain’t no fighter. Boxing is about fighting, getting in and attacking. David is a fighter, a pitbull he goes for the kill and attacks. Cintron should enter a balerina contest!
