By Zach Arnold | December 11, 2020

Print Friendly and PDF

The Joint Building Contracts Committee® NPC as the author of the JBCC® suite of construction contracts invites you, to an interactive virtual seminar led by a construction law specialist and JBCC Chief Executive Officer on the appropriate application of JBCC® edition 6.2 The main subcontract and N/S 2018 and its accompanying documentation in reference to the 2018 JBCC agreement ®. In addition, the two new JBCC 2020® contracts, the Small and Simple Works Contract and the Direct Contractor`s Contract, will be introduced. Please note that following a board decision on Friday, November 29, 2019, JBCC intends to terminate the availability of all older versions, including Edition 4.1 (2004) and Edition 5.0 (Reprint 1 – 2007). The last two editions are still widely used by public bodies or the private sector.dem and the use of these expenditures for projects already obtained will continue for some time, until such projects are closed courses that have been presented throughout the SA – relevant to employers, contractors and members of the professional team, including the senior representative, architects, surveyors, etc. All three agreements are supported by a series of standard forms that facilitate contract management. The initials JBCC represent the joint committee of the construction contract. It is an organization created in 1984 by various organizations related to construction. It is now fully representative of all players in the built environment and includes professions, contracting and subcontractor associations, the Black Business Council for the Built Environment and the South African Property Owners Association. In the construction sector in South Africa, JBCC agreements are by far the most widely used and widely accepted.

They are also widespread in other African countries such as Botswana and Lesotho, but also others. To understand the importance of a qualified adjur in dispute resolution, we are talking to Professor MJ Maritz, author/co-author of various standard documents for the construction industry in South Africa and who has worked in several governing bodies and expert committees, such as the Council for the Commission of Inquiry on Quantit (SACQSP) and the Joint Building Building Committee (JBCC).
