Just HDNet was really retarded today with the commercials. They came back from commercials a little late so we missed part of the VTR. Hell for Thompson/Overeem they skipped it entirely even though you could see it in the background.

I like the video packages and all, but they don’t make an event or me. In the case of Thompson/Overeem, I loved that instead of a ridiculous hype video, they basically said, “this fight is a sham.” But I guess that might be bad for biz or something and so its bad for the sport.

That Sakuraba fight…Wow. I was convinced we might see Saku actually die half way through it… but he pulls out the win. I must confess I’m glad he won, I’ve always had a soft spot for him.

I actually thought he net/hexagon was pretty cool.

The Shibata/Ka Shin VTR was really well done I thought. Smart idea to show Ka Shin making Sakuraba tap.

Love the way they showed the NJPW logo before it switched to the Dream promo.

Looks like I’ll backtrack a little. They went back to the traditional intro format from the Shibata/Ka Shin fight on to the other fights which made me much better. Especially for the Sakuraba fight.

With a DVR, this is a really fast show. That’s the best part.

Galesic/Sakuraba makes me sad because it virtually guarantees another 2-3 years of Sakuraba fights against guys that will beat him up really badly. Other than that, LOL @ Thompson giving Overeem his head and blatantly taking the out, thumbs up for Zaromskis continuing to lay down head kick justice, and the decision in the Dong fight was worse than the decision in the Machida/Rua fight.
