Brian Bowles isn't bad either. But yes, generally the Bantamweights bore me to a degree. They often times lack the power to end fights, and it almost appears like watching two undersized adults in a fight.

It's Featherweighgt to Light Heavyweight to me, with sprinkles of Heavyweight & Bantamweight.

Just my personal tastes. But like I said, I do like seeing these guys getting a chance to shine on a bigger stage.

You can barely watch the bantamweights? Some of the best fights in MMA in the past year have been in the WEC's 135-pound division, and some of the best fights in boxing are in the 122-to-135 range as well.

Not at all related to this post..... MMA Weekly is reporting that the WEC will be adding the Flyweight Division (125 lbs).

I can barely watch the Bantamweights, with the exception of Miguel Torres who is exciting. It will only be tougher to watch such smaller guys.

But I do like this move. It would be nice to see them move Condit & Larson to the UFC, and just have Lightweight through Flyweight. And I think the Lightweight Division is stacked enough throughout the sport to warrant 2 Zuffa companies having title belts.

There is no such thing as censorship - only selective censorship.

Several sports are far more dangerous than MMA, but they are so ingrained in American culture they'll never be banned - for any reason.

Football has caused broken bones, paralysis, and death. We've already discussed the hazards of wrestling.

And don't get me started on auto racing... it doesn't only kill the participants - it kills SPECTATORS. But try to ban NASCAR in the US of A and you'll likely be assassinated.

I'm just getting tired of reading that every time some kids gets a bump or bruise, it's "ULTIMATE FIGHTING!" that's to blame.

Exactly Ultimo. You just pointed out the hypocrisy of those who wish to ban MMA/keep it banned. None of them would dare to ban amateur wrestling but you can be paralyzed for life in that sport. Some have died in the process of weight cutting.

Though, to be fair Ultimo, his family *is* suing about a dozen "persons" for somewhere in the neighbourhood of $65mm.

<em>"The family of a teen who suffered facial bruising from a fight with another student during a school-sponsored self-defense club is sending a letter to the Davie County School Board demanding compensation."</em>

FACIAL BRUISING? From an ULTIMATE FIGHT? Wow...that's hardcore.

A kid here in Ontario just became a quadriplegic after a high school wrestling match. But oddly, I haven't read any articles about how barbaric or dangerous the sport is.

The lesson here is that any sort of combat sport - or regular sport - is dangerous to some degree. If MMA is illegal in a state (or province), that state should be prepared to ban wrestling, boxing, football, volleyball, or any other sport with any chance of serious injury.

Money talks.... And a $3 Million Live Gate, which can have both taxes and fees attached to it.... along with restaurants and hotels doing well for the night.... It's hard to pass up during bad economic times.
