I really enjoyed the third interview.

Sometimes I feel like I’m the only person giving Mir a chance in this fight. I still think Nog will win, but I think Mir has a good enough ground game to keep from getting caught in a sub, which dramatically increases his odds of winning this fight. I think this fight will be decided by who has the better wrestling and spends more time on top. If that’s relatively even, or if the TDs are negated, then it’s decided by striking, where Nog is probably the superior fighter.

Of course, it’ll probably end with Mir throwing a high kick and knocking Nog out in the first minute, simply because this is MMA and nobody thinks that has a chance in hell of actually happening.

  2. Jeremy (not that Jeremy) says:

Excellent videos. I actually found Nog pretty interesting as well, they clearly agree on the basic ground level of what this fight is about, that Mir has an early advantage. Nog words and face kind of simultaneously displaying both conviction and also sort of betraying a level of self-conditioning, trying to convince himself that this is true. I’m really looking forward to this one.

  3. 45 Huddle says:

I’ve been picking Nogueira from the start. But in the back of my mind, I always think of Nogueira/Ricco. During that fight, Big Nog showed very few answers from his back. Not to mention that he is shown definitive signs of slowing down, despite his young age. He has taken a lot of shots throughout his career. He just doesn’t have that jump in his step like he use to.

The UFC would be smart to get Lesnar in the cage with the winner of this fight. Should make for some great hype.

  4. Jeremy (not that Jeremy) says:

“Be smart to,” they pretty much have to. They have two belts, and that’s not going to stay that way for long.
