UFC President Dana White admitted in a Youtube vlog that the company had been paying for media coverage of past UFC events with Sirius Satellite radio host Scott Ferrall. However, according to White, Ferrall held up UFC for more money and UFC balked at paying him. White’s admission that UFC buys and pays off members of the sports media has gone unnoticed, including a public by sports blog The Big Lead three months ago that Spike TV paid them to go to Las Vegas to cover an MMA event. Will anyone in the mainstream sports media raise ethical and journalistic questions regarding this situation?

Enson Inoue arrested in Japan for possession of marijuana

According to popular Japanese news wire outlet Jiji, 41-year old MMA veteran Enson Inoue was arrested in Saitama on charges of possessing marijuana. According to the media report, Inoue admitted he had pot and inhaled three or four times in a month. Possession of marijuana in Japan is a serious offense, and several key Japanese MMA stars have been targets of recent attempted police raids in an attempt to crack down on marijuana usage in Japan.
