Has MMA become the dumbest sport in America?

Eddie Goldman might be the dumbest journalist in MMA.
I was a big fan of his during the Eyada Days. But he has not progressed with the sport. Not to mention that he continues to show favorites to organizations in the past. Doesn’t exactly make him credible.
Haha, How appropriate! Because american mma has had it with Eddie Goldman. Does anyone even listen or take him serious anymore?
He said today’s MMA is like “sanitized toughman”.
He also talked about how back in the day, there were talented guys from different disciplines, such as Maurice Smith, Masakatsu Funaki, and Minoru Suzuki.
So somehow these one dimensional fighters get praised by him, but the well rounded athletes of today are bashed.
It was extremely comical. Zack, why do you even bring up his comments? Do they really have any relevance to today’s sport?
Today’s rules and enforcement of the rules are a far cry from the fights of even 6 or 7 years ago. It’s entirely understandable that someone might not care for the today’s fights.
I see a lot more in common between toughman and UFC 1 fights than I do today’s. He’s just seen three of the organizations that he personally talked up big time that were run by his buddies go under (YAMMA, IFL, ProElite). He’s probably blackballed by UFC, and he’s going back to boxing where his friends are, and he has the ability to do some interviews.
I don’t see how. The fights are only getting better and better.

I don’t disagree, but that’s a very subjective statement.
