« Larry Zbyszko tells it like it is | Home | Dana White’s “big announcement” »

There’s as much fighting outside of the cage than in it these days

By Zach Arnold | June 17, 2008

Here is a press release detailing Ricco Rodriguez’s upcoming fight on June 28th in Salt Lake City for the UCE promotion.

Sherdog is reporting that UK star Dan Hardy will make his UFC debut on October 18th in England.

Josh Gross at Sports Illustrated has a preview of the upcoming MMA Summer calendar. I like it.

The Washington Times has an article talking about UFC beating down their competition. I have to give Adam Swift a lot of credit — that guy seemingly always finds a way to get himself quoted in a newspaper article these days.

Today’s headlines.

  1. The Palo Alto Daily News (CA): Local resident and former MMA star Tim Lajcik achieves film success
  2. The UNLV Rebel Yell: UNLV boxing coach Chris Ben-Tchavtchavadze makes strides in MMA
  3. Fightmetric: The Total Performance Report (TPR) for UFC 85
  4. MMA Junkie: Affliction hoping for big burst on MMA scene
  5. ESPN’s Page 2: Who says you have to eat meat to be a successful athlete? (an article on our favorite, Mac Danzig)
  6. US 2008 Presidential Candidate Charles Jay: MMA odds - Ultimate Fighter 7 finale wagering
  7. Setanta Sports (UK): Rampage says, “I may as well take my belt off and whoop Forrest’s ass.”
  8. Fightlinker: Drew Fickett vs. Jake Shields conveniently canceled
  9. MMA Mania: Rob McCullough vs. Donald Cerrone WEC fight in the works
  10. Marc Staehling (Total MMA): UFC Superfights - no thanks
  11. MMA Opinion: Fighting outside of the cage

Well, I guess that pretty well confirms UFC 89 (90?) for the UK.

I wonder if the Anderson Silva vs Yushin Okami fight has actually been signed for this show?
