Dana White’s absence — any theories?

My picks (which, mind you, have a strong negative correlation to actual results):

    1. Rooting for Machida, picking Machida — I think he’ll fight off enough takedowns and tag Tito enough to win by decision.

    2. Rooting for Wandy, picking Jardine — I think Jardine will keep his distance and outpoint Wandy by decision.

    3. Rooting for Penn (want to see that Penn-GSP rematch), picking Sherk — I think Sherk will weather the early storm and win three late rounds.

  2. Terry Querns says:

Well it did say on that ESPN.com article before it got taken down that there is a ROLLING STONE article coming up that talks about DW going on a 4-month-long drinking binge, so maybe he is on another drinking binge now.

  3. Jeremy (not that Jeremy) says:

Or, maybe it takes two to tango, and Zuffa would like Ortiz out of UFC’s hair for good, and there’s no reason to give him a rice shower on his way out.

    :?

  4. Jeremy says:

Dave Meltzer wrote that Dana felt he should be at the weigh-ins, in case something happened.

I would say that was a smart move.

  5. Jeremy (not that Jeremy) says:

Hm, do you think that Goldberg thinks that Sherk is a little angry?

  6. Jeremy (not that Jeremy) says:

Ok, it’s criminal, in my mind, for Tito Ortiz to come into the ring to Public Enemy.

  7. 45 Huddle says:

Wow, they gave him the mic even in defeat.

I have a feeling Ortiz & the UFC will work things out. Just the way he was talking makes me think this.

  8. CapnHulk says:

Oh my, that was fast and nasty.

  9. Fan Futbol says:

WANDERLEI! Yes! I love watching that guy fight. He’s not the best 205er in the world, but I’ll buy PPVs to see him until he retires.

  10. PizzaChef says:

    Wanderlei is BACK!!!!! PWN3D!!!!

  11. The Gaijin says:

Wandy back on the winning track and look very much “Ax Murderer” of old times.

Totally overwhelmed Jardine and walked right through his weak slappy punching. You drop your hands on low kicks, you will pay. And he showed that killer instinct by absolutely pouncing on Keith and making sure he didn’t get back up.

I had to sigh a little that he couldn’t throw any vicious knees or kicks when he dropped him the first time.

I hope Jardine’s ok…he was laid out pretty bad after.

  12. The Gaijin says:

I am gonna puke if I hear them say “the belt Sherk never lost!”.

Ummm, he only had the title b/c he’s a fucking cheater. My heart bleeds purple piss for him that they stripped him of his precious belt because he was juiced up.

  13. CapnHulk says:

    Aloha, baby.

  14. Fan Futbol says:

I was a strong 1 of 3 on the night for my picks — although everyone I wanted to win, won.

BJ’s got a rock of a head. I bet anything that Sherk busted his right hand on BJ’s skull.

  15. Grape Knee High says:

    WAR WANDERLEI
