  1. Jeremy (not that Jeremy) says:

    Am I missing something here?

Didn’t UFC’s cable debut come on Fox Sports? Didn’t Fox Sports broadcast Pride events on tape in some sort of edited format for years?

  2. Brandt says:

I saw part of the Cro Cop vs. Silva fight a little while back on FSN – a regular channel. I don’t normally get FSN at home, so while visiting relatives, I was surprised to see Wanderlei and Mirko on regular television.

  3. catch says:

Man, what a pathetic first comment to the AOL Fanhouse article.

  4. catch says:

Whoops, forgot to specify. I meant the “CBS Boss: Our MMA Deal Was a Mistake” article.

  5. Grape Knee High says:

Bloody Elbow….yawn. Dumb website name, dumb bloggers.

Do they not realize Sumner Redstone is like 85 years old? Literally. What else would you expect an 85-year old to say about MMA?

  6. GB says:

Sumner Redstone, the owner of MTV, has the balls to say airing MMA is not “socially responsible”? Redstone is one of the biggest purveyors of trash ever. Two words for him: Tila Tequila.

  7. IceMuncher says:

I’m disappointed. When I saw the headline about the EXC show on CBS, I was hoping that the head honcho was upset at promoting an unaccomplished street fighter as the main event of their first ever MMA show. Unfortunately it was just more anti-MMA rhetoric.

  8. Jim Allcorn says:

LOL at GB’s Tila Tequila comment. He’s spot on with it.

Now, I’m a pretty damn liberal guy, but C’MON, someone argue that her show’s not a (very) thinly disguised program entirely devoted to her auctioning her ass ( & everything else attached to it ) off to it’s contestants for her salary & the celebrity that the show brings her.
Which, I personally could only stomach watching for about 10 or 15 minutes of one night while channel surfing, it was so ridiculous ( even the scantily clad, women contestants couldn’t grab my interest, WAY too much obvious implant over-usage there ladies! ), but if others want to tune in to it regularly that’s cool with me.

But, the idea that old bastard Redstone is willing to reap the profits from all the so-called objectionable stuff that is broadcast on his corporation’s other assets, as long as it’s not shown on his flagship CBS is, to me, just like the seedy politico who goes around & about on a platform of cleaning things up &
“bringing morality back”, all the while taking secret campaign contributions from all the local pimps, hustlers & numbers runners …

The geriatric fool should just go off, count his cash & continue to leave the real work & decision making to those who recognize that it’s 2008 & that ALL IN THE FAMILY & MAUDE are no longer currant , cutting edge television programs.

I enjoyed Tila Tequila and her lesbian girl on girl action. But then again, I watch MMA, so what do I know about taste? =)

    ROFL! Good one!
