It has nothing to do with him "getting his kicks somewhere" or settling for mock combat over real combat (his training is obviously being taken very seriously), it's about them loving him and vice versa. To an extent, the same reason Fedor did the showboat NYE fight with Hong Man Choi in Japan. I thought Cro-Cop looked pretty good there, actually. Far stronger than he's been in years, hopefully it'll give him something of an edge in the UFC's far larger HW division. Cro-Cop got the invitation because he’s still a huge figure in Japan.
