Sorry Gaijin,

I did kinda sense sarcasm in your comment, but most often or not statements like yours go the other way. The homer in me just instantly defended Brunt, that is all. And like you said, I can only hope he starts covering mma more. Hell, as proven by the above article, it is obvious he writing is fair better then “the objective geniuses” of Iole.

My comment was made with total sarcasm. It just seems like when anyone at this site makes a comment like he did – they’re abject haters of the UFC and thats their only reason for saying so.

Brunt is amazing – He actually came and spoke to my class a few years back about the history and economics of the boxing biz. It was an awesome lecture and the man is totally articulate and has a depth of knowledge that’s second to none.

I hope he starts covering mma a bit more, because his sports writing is excellent.

Hmm, no mention of this ?(courtesy of the Wrestling Observer):

“Scott Collins of the Los Angeles Times has reported that CBS is talking with UFC about producing one or more prime time network specials. The writers strike is making the talks more serious, because the network would be in need of first-run unscripted prime time programming when the shows on the schedule run out of fresh episodes.”

CBS is really going to need fresh programming QUICKLY. Letterman and Ferguson are already on hiatus, Rules of Engagement is also out of new episodes, the CSI’s have between 2 and 4 episodes left, Cold Case, NCIS, Ghost Whisperer, Numb3rs and Big Bang Theory each 2 episodes, and that’s more or less it, only reality-stuff left. So if negotiations go well we could see a special as early as next month…
