Fight Opinion Radio #42: Power brokers

By Zach Arnold | March 7, 2007

Print Friendly and PDF

We are back after a long break to catch up on a ton of hot MMA news topics. Expect some controversy coming out of this show. Our two big guests this week are Jeremy Lappen (former WFA boss, now working for Elite XC) and Jimmy Greninger of Soldier Fight Gear. Jeremy talks about his role currently in Elite XC and debates Zach Arnold on the idea of a boxing-style free-promoter system being implemented in MMA. Plus, some interesting news on when Elite XC’s next show will take place. Jimmy is on the show this week to talk about his company (Soldier Fight Gear) and also answers questions about the politics of the fight wear business. Both guests were great sports, so check out their respective sites.

Also on this week’s show is a contentious debate as to whether or not UFC markets itself like professional wrestling. Plus a UFC 68 show recap and a preview of what is likely in store in the legal battle between PRIDE & Ed Fishman. Plus, go Black Bear hunting with Tim Sylvia. Two hours of fun for the entire family.
