Haven't seen this mentioned here: Dave Meltzer reports in WO that The World Fighter is screwed BECAUSE they were gambling on getting a Showtime deal, so now that Rumble Entertaniment got it instead, World Fighter is in financial trouble.

Arco does hold about that, and while there would be more seats available for MMA as opposed to basketball, there were four largish sections on the second level that were blocked off for the big screens. All in all, I'd say that the 15,600 number isn't at all unreasonable.

I was going to go to this Cage Rage but my mate I was going with is going Skiing instead :(

They've swapped Buzz Berry for Tengiz Tedoradze (against Cabbage). Tedoradze is so much better than Berry... at least he looks better - I've never seen someone with a more rediculous stance than Berry in all of MMA. He's the true defininition of rock em sock em robots - his head literally never moves :P

Anyway, another good card. No monster fights but lots of good fighters. I guess Zelg vs Weir is fight of the night.

The general gist is what you have in the headline. According to Le Journal, The Saint-Isidore Athlete received very close to $500,000 including bonuses, and reportedly received a van and a Hummer (no model on that, hope it's an H2, the H3 looks like a glorified Jeep Cherokee). It also reports 15,600 people at Arco.

I haven't seen the officially released gate figures from the CSAC to compare that with, but it is my understanding that Arco holds 17,317 for Basketball's Sacremento Kings games. I have no idea how an octagon setup would alter that number if it would at all.

A word to the wise. Le Journal du Montreal is not known for it's fact checking. The Montreal Gazzette or Le Droit would be a far better information source. However, it does not appear that either paper reported these numbers (or the event much at all).

GSP also wrote an article in french for the french canadian version of ESPN.

He talks about the joy of winning, his mom, a week or 2 of vacationing in Aruba and a possible UFC in Montréal in May. Saying that Dana wants to do it and is trying.
