With the exception of the main event looking like a squash on paper, IMO, the rest of the Pride FC Las Vegas card doesn’t look that bad. Although, I also think that Pride FC and UFC won’t go head-to-head as rival promotions. The world is a big place, and IMO, UFC has the US, and Pride FC has Japan. UFC battling Pride FC IMO, would be like Hustle battling the WWE for sports entertainment supremacy.

Speaking of WWE, has anyone picked up this Wrestlemania like vibe in Pride FC with Mike Tyson fighting on their New Years Eve show from a different location. Granted, I know Pride is only doing this because Tyson can’t work in Japan, but still, the concept of running a show from two or three locations just reminds me of Wrestlemania 2 and 3.

If the match between Shamrocks manager and Dana(blaf) White happens, and Dana loses what does Frank stand to gain? Not that i think it’ll ever happen but even if Dana loses he wins by “being a man and standing up to the challange” Doesn’t sound like a well thought out wager.

Two, Ed Fishman is referred to as â€œthe president of Pride USA,â€ which is the first time Iâ€™ve seen that wording used.

I wonder if Ed fully realizes the scope of what he is getting into. Quite a big situation.

Two interesting things in the Las Vegas Sun article. One, Dana White says regarding the Pride show, “I’m not going to counter it,” which seems odd given that a four-hour block of UFC Knockouts is scheduled to run on Spike TV head-to-head with the Pride USA PPV. Two, Ed Fishman is referred to as “the president of Pride USA,” which is the first time I’ve seen that wording used.
